Right in the middle of Adrasan and Olympos, leaning against the majestic Mount Musa, that hidden pirate refuge where not a single path descends from the land: Genoese Bay (Porto Ceneviz).
Although visible on maps, it is that rare escape point completely isolated from civilization where navigation says 'route not found' and can only be found with a sailor's compass. As Limancepte.com, we define this place to our Adrasan boat rental guests as "the most desolate and greenest corner of Antalya".
Here is what you need to know about this special bay accessible only by sea:
The bay gets its name from the castle ruins on the steep cliffs on its slope.
History: In the Middle Ages, Genoese sailors and pirates used this deep and sheltered bay to hide without being seen in the open sea.
Mount Musa: That huge and steep mountain against which the bay leans is the natural wall cutting off all connection of the bay with the land.
Unlike the clay in Kekova, black mud is famous in Genoese Bay. You mix the soil in the inner parts of the beach with sea water and apply it to your body. You wait for it to dry looking like a pitch-black "pirate", then jump into that emerald green water to cleanse. It is fun and said to be good for the skin.
Unlike the light blue color of Suluada, this place is in dark green and dark blue tones with the reflection of pine forests.
Clarity: The water is like glass. You can see white sands and fish at a depth of 10-15 meters with the naked eye from the boat. This is the exact equivalent of the definition of "aquarium".
Boats going to Genoese Bay usually also stop at Sazak Bay right next to it. The back of Sazak Bay is a flat forest and its water is like a sheet. There is a thin cape separating the two bays.
