Access by Sea Only: Where Is Turunç Pınarı Bay and How to Get There?

When you set sail in Fethiye Bay with a Fethiye yacht charter, one of the most popular answers captains give to the question "Where should we steer for lunch?" is Turunc Pinari. Also known as "Osman's Place", this bay is one of the rare places that has preserved its virginity and quality thanks to the lack of land access.

As Limancepte.com, as we always tell our guests: Turunc Pinari is not just a sea break, but the story of pleasant tables lasting for hours under the trees and the sea cooled by fresh water coming from the mountain. Here is everything you need to know about this hidden paradise of Fethiye:

1. Where is Turunc Pinari and What Makes It Special?

Turunc Pinari is a deep bay covered with pine forests, located right across Fethiye central port, behind the Oyuktepe Peninsula. Its magic is hidden in its name:

  • Pınar (Spring): Ice-cold natural fresh water sources coming from the mountains mix into the sea here. Therefore, its water is more vigorous and refreshing than other bays of Fethiye.
  • Turunç (Bitter Orange): The slopes of the bay are full of citrus (bitter orange, lemon, orange) trees. The scent of orange blossom coming to your nose while swimming is the signature of this place.

2. No Road Access! How to Get There?

The biggest luxury of this bay is the lack of road connection. So you can't come here by car.

  • Private Boat Rental (Most Comfortable): You can reach it with a pleasant cruise of 15-20 minutes from Fethiye port with a Gulet or Motor Yacht you rent via Limancepte.
  • Restaurant Boats: Businesses in the bay (Osman's Place etc.) have shuttle boats departing from Fethiye center.

3. How is a Day Spent in the Bay?

Turunc Pinari is the reflection of the "Slow Living" philosophy on the sea. You won't find jet-ski noise here. You sit for hours at tables equipped with lamb in tandoori, fresh seafood, and local appetizers. If you take a short walk from the path behind the bay, you will encounter a magnificent view overlooking Fethiye Bay.

4. Entrance Fee and Facilities

Turunc Pinari is not a "Public Beach". There are private businesses in the bay. An entrance fee is usually not charged, but you are expected to spend at the establishment (eat or drink) to use the pier and sunbeds. Electricity, water, shower, and toilet facilities are available.

5. Accommodation and Camping

This is not a camping area in the classic sense. The most popular option is to stay overnight on the boat you rented. Connecting to the restaurant's pier, eating dinner on land, and then spending the night in your boat's cabin under the stars is priceless.

6. Best Time to Visit

  • September and October: The water is at the ideal temperature, citrus scents increase, and the crowd completely withdraws.
  • July-August: The most active period. Advance reservation is required to find a place in restaurants.
Limancepte Expert Advice If you have rented a private boat, ask your captain to take you to Turunc Pinari a little before lunch time (like 11:30 - 12:00). Thus, you can settle in the most beautiful tables and sunbeds before crowded boats arrive. You can throw off the lethargy after the meal in the hammocks in the shade of pine trees.
